Jesse McBride is a Houston native, but a New Orleans has a claim to him too. Jesse studied with Ellis Marsalis at UNO, and his career has had strong New Orleans ties ever since.

Biography: Jesse began playing violin when he was four years old. He won several solo violin competitions during his elementary and middle school upbringing in Houston. He attended high school at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas, where his teacher, Charles Rhinhardt, a local pianist, got Jesse hooked on jazz piano.

Jesse went on to attend the University of New Orleans and studied under Ellis Marsalis. He has recorded with AFO records, and he has close ties with Harold Battiste. Not only is Jesse an admirable pianist, he has a talent for education.
